Latest Updates from Our Project:

Life in the Crypt - Update #6
over 4 years ago – Thu, Oct 31, 2019 at 09:51:13 AM

Week 3 has expired and the end is near. Two more days until the lid noisily slides closed on the Dice Crypt. Currently at 144% funding - thank you backers for helping bring this project to life. Indeed, we hope to cram a few more bodies inside before Midnight on Thursday. Plenty of room here in the cemetery. We are starting to bury ourselves with survey design and other cryptic details to make the termination of this project easy to execute.  We did get our first celebrity endorsement (see below).

Life in the Crypt - Update #5
over 4 years ago – Thu, Oct 31, 2019 at 09:48:55 AM

The end is near . . . with 5 days left in the Kickstarter we thought we would share some “fun stuff” for the weekend. We received a sample of the velvet bag.  Black velvet with the Dice Crypt logo on the outside; blue satin lining on the inside. Perfect for protecting your crypt from rogue undertakers, harsh sunlight or shifty prying eyes. Every Crypt will come with a velvet bag!

Not a Bag of Holding, but it will hold your Dice Crypt.

Our friends @norsefoundry agreed to produce a special edition set of their semi-precious dice. Wow! They came out better than we could have ever imagined! White Howlite with blood red numbers – a perfect complement to your crypt. These dice will be added to the campaign.

Graveyard Classic

There were a few questions about whether a backer could add a bit of color to the laser engraved images. Yes, it can be done. We carefully rubbed a touch of gold paint into the Celtic Cross image below and were quite happy with the results. Warning, test your paints first; some pigments (like blood red) are very unforgiving.

Now... dig yourself out of that hole and have a most lively weekend!

Life in the Crypt - Update #4
over 4 years ago – Sun, Oct 27, 2019 at 12:59:30 PM

The lid on the Week #2 Crypt has slid to a close and we are still alive and kick’n!  Lying in here around 132% funded with only 9 more days of grave concerns to go.

Frequent question:  “How many dice can one really cram into the open crypt? The picture below shows it full with fourteen (14) @norsefoundry metal dice: 3-d20, 5-d6,2-d12, 2-d10, 1-d8 and 1-d4.

14 Metal Dice!

That’s 11 oz. of shiny metal dice. Of corpse the next question is will the lid stay on?

Yes it will! Having four (4) super magnets on each crypt makes a difference!

Also, we did receive pictures of the Purpleheart and White Oak Dice Crypts.  These are freshly cut and have not been sanded or finished.

Thank you again. We really appreciate the support of our dead-icated backers. Stay cryptic.

Life in the Crypt - Update #3

Holy Crypt Batman, we funded!

So there we were, dead to the world when we hear a tiny ding. “You made it!” says the message from Kickstarter. Of course, we are thrilled to death. Even our little Grim Reaper seems to have a grin on his face. (He wants to make it clear however that he is never, never to be referred to as: “The Grin Reaper”)

Thank you to all of the backers who pushed us over the funding cliff; without you this project would be a lifeless mess.

With 15 days left in our Kickstarter (Midnight Halloween, of course) we can’t help to wonder how this will end, the final toll if you will. Thank you again!

I swear I see a grin.

Life in the Crypt - Update #2

The lid to the Week 1 Crypt came to a close and we found ourselves 98% alive. Thank you backers; it is so rewarding to see that your idea has potential and not another dead end. Plenty of things are happening in the cemetery: The “Stickers of Thanks” are on order and we are waiting for a proof/sample of the black felt/blue satin bags. Some backers have been asking about the different engraving and wood combinations; below is a picture that may help. Keep in mind that these are all pre-production samples and some of the wood varieties shown didn’t make the cut.  (So they were cut after being cut?)
